Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash.
Leonard Cohen

I wish that there was the "undo" button in life, or perhaps I could cut and paste more clever conversations or wittier rebuttal... be more kind, tactful, thoughtful... delete hurtful words and replace with imported photos of flowers and videos of robins singing. It can work online-we can backspace over our typed words so that the person on the other side does not know our immediate reaction and response... temper ourselves in a way--add in an emoticon for extra emphasis. Though we can delete text messages, remove numbers from our phonebooks and most recently... un-friend someone...In real life the face speaks to me more than the words say, and there is no way to undo the way you look at me with those eyes of yours.
